Sugar Mountain and its surrounding areas offer a
great place for golfers to escape from the
hustle and bustle of the workplace and relax
among the Blue Ridge Mountains in the North
Carolina High Country.
Golfers
enjoy the unbeatable climate of the Blue Ridge
Mountains, and often come here to play a round
on Sugar's 18-hole course. Sugar Mountain Golf
Course is perched atop Sugar Mountain, and at an
elevation of 4,000 feet, the course offers a
challenging round of golf to
players, as well as the beautiful landscape and
surrounding mountains. Rates vary throughout the
season, which opens in April and concludes in
October, and are quite affordable. Give Sugar Mountain Golf Course

Mountain Glen, located in Newland, is a short
drive from Sugar Mountain and offers golf
enthusiasts a regulation 18-hole course in
the High Country. Mountain Glen is a public
course, established in 1963. The course features
beautiful greens across the vast 6,723 yards and
offers a par 72 for golfers of all abilities.
If you are looking for a change of scenery in
the High Country you may also check out Boone
Golf Club located in Watauga Valley, just
outside of Boone toward Blowing Rock North
Carolina. Boone Golf Club is a public resort
that features 6,680 yards of gently rolling
fairways and beautiful greens among the stunning
Blue Ridge Mountains. The season runs from early
May through early October, weather permitting.
